Biography

Freelance photographer since 2016. After a master’s degree in photography and contemporary art at the University of Paris 8, I turned to a more documentary photography. Thus, in February 2016, I began with a first long-term work in Ukraine, dealing with the consequences of the conflict on civilian population. In June 2021, I obtained a grant to support contemporary documentary photography from the CNAP for my subject “Bangladesh, women in troubled waters”. In October of that same year, I was awarded a photographer grant from the Lagardere Foundation for a project about khat women sellers in the Horn of Africa, which I shot earlier this year in Ethiopia and Djibouti. In January 2022, I was nominated by The Economist as candidate for the “Courage in journalism” award by the International women’s media Foundation for my work in Donbass ; indeed, I have continued to work in Ukraine on various topics and projects since 2016. In September 2022, I won the French Union des Photographes Professionnels prize for my subject “Ukraine, the choice to stay”. I am committed to work on social issues for the French and international press.
